Partnering for Success:

Our Speech Pathologists work with our Allied Health Assistants to bring regular, affordable therapy to your home

At Fora Therapy, our Speech Pathologists and Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work together to deliver consistent, affordable therapy directly to your home and community. Our approach is guided by three core values:

Family-Centred Care: We collaborate with families, recognising them as the experts of their own lives. We involve them in decision-making and tailor our care to meet their unique needs and preferences.

Functional Practice: Our therapy aims to make meaningful improvements to daily routines. We take a holistic view, considering the person, their participation, and the environment to ensure therapy is relevant and beneficial.

Evidence-Based Practice: We integrate clinical experience, client values, and the latest research to guide our decisions. This approach ensures we provide the highest quality service.

Our Approach to Therapy

We take a collaborative therapy approach, where families can play an active role in reaching therapy goals.
Collaborative

Our therapists, including speech pathologists, will spend time connecting with other therapists working with the client and people in their everyday life – whether they are at school, kinder, or social programs. This collaboration gives our therapists insight into the unique context of the client and their family. Therefore, we can plan solutions that suit your needs best.

Furthermore, through collaboration, we can share strategies and resources with everyone who interacts with the client. Consequently, if the people around them are upskilled to actively support their development, they are more likely to succeed and be able to integrate skills learned in therapy into their everyday life.

Family-centred

We know that the most influential people in a person’s development are the ones they spend the most time with – their families! That’s why we work closely with families, equipping them with strategies and tools, including those used in speech pathology, that they can apply within everyday environments and activities to support development throughout the week. Families are actively involved in all stages of therapy delivery, from goal-setting and planning through to sessions and reviews.

Your authentic self

We stand for the power of authenticity. This means enabling our clients to live their best lives by supporting them to be their authentic selves. Instead of aiming to ‘fix’ people or fit them into a norm, our goal is to help them achieve goals that are important to them and their families by addressing barriers. Whether through speech pathology or other therapeutic approaches, we aim to support clients and families to feel confident in their own unique set of strengths, abilities, and areas for support.

Allied Health Assistants

Additionally, we work closely with Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), who collaborate with families and children to address challenges. Our AHAs can spend more time with a family than a therapist, offering additional support to integrate new skills, including those from speech pathology, into their everyday environment.

Time spent with a therapist comparing to other waking hours per week

People receiving care spend 37x as much time with family as they do with therapists.
